MICRACLE ON 34TH STREET: COMING SOON

Music for the upcoming play…

The holiday season is in full swing when New York’s main department store hires an old man off the street to appear as their very own Santa Claus. He says his name is Kris Kringle, but all is not as it seems….

Following the success of It’s A Wonderful Life – A Live Radio Play, Lighthouse Theatre return with another Christmas Classic. Set in a 1940s New York Live broadcasting studio, Miracle On 34th Street will tour all over Wales, bringing a unique theatrical and broadcasting experience to a theatre near you.

The production will be directed by Joe Harmston, with a design by Sean Cavanagh and original music composed by Robert Singer. The foley artist and musical director will be Kieran Bailey.

A MOMENT: TOURING 2022

An original collaboration between dance and music

The Musical Score is like pulses of electricity evoking emotion and movement, an almost ghost like sound depicts the haunting, neon backdrop of the 80s; Liberation, fear, sadness and beauty.

Balancing on a knife edge between keeping the joy and losing everything, this duet delves into the complex emotions of two characters living through the AIDS crisis in the 1980’s when the UK was full of fear and ignorance. The dance is a choreographic response to Bren Gosling's play 'Moment of Grace'.

Dancing through intimate human connections into explosions of physicality weaved together in Thomas Page Dances unique style of gesture, contortion and grounded visceral movement, with an intricate score by composer, Robert Singer.

HOWARD’S END: ON TOUR, 55 PERFORMANCES AND COUNTING

Music written for the touring play…

Frankie Howerd was one of Britain's most loved comedians for half a century. But he had a secret. And the secret's name was Dennis.

This brand new play by Mark Farrelly (Quentin Crisp: Naked Hope) takes you to the heart of Frankie and Dennis' clandestine relationship, which lasted from the 1950s until Frankie's death in 1992. It also affords a glorious opportunity to encounter Frankie in full-flight stand up mode.

Packed with laughter, but unafraid of truth, Howerd's End portrays two humans' journey through closeness, love, grief and all the other things that make life worth living. Come and say farewell to a legend... and learn the art of letting go.

25 PERFORMANCE WELSH TOUR OF IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE

I was delighted write the music for the play “It's A Wonderful Life” by the Light House Theatre. Directed by Joe Harmston. Inspired by the classic American film, It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play is performed as a 1940s live radio broadcast in front of a studio audience.

With the help of an ensemble of six actors and a live foley artist creating the sound effects, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve. It will take help from a lovable angel, Clarence, for George to have a change of heart and understand the true spirit of the Christmas.

Many thanks to Ty Cerdd and Arts Council Wales for sponsering this production.

ORIGINAL BALLET: WE WILL

‘We Will’, an original contemporary ballet that follows several friends from the time that they meet, through the bond of their friendships, and as they break apart to discover their own lives. Soon they are growing past their boundaries and discovering their true nature.

The music explored fluidity in rhythm and how forces interact and how their relationships change over time. The score was written for piano, woodwind, and strings.

The ballet was jointly directed between Robert and Krystal Lowe who previously has worked with Ballet Cymru. The premiere of ‘We Will’ was at Atmospheres Festival at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with a full orchestra.
